My Absence
Over the last couple of months, many people have noticed that updates from Amery Publishing became very quiet after early March… and I felt it was important to explain why.
I recently underwent complex eye surgery and have spent the last 2 months focusing on recovery, rest, and adjusting to a slower pace while my eyesight continues to improve.
During that time, I’ve had a great deal of opportunity to reflect on what Amery Publishing should truly stand for… not just as a business, but as a community.
And honestly… the more I thought about it, the more I realised that charging authors simply to join never sat completely right with me.
There are talented writers everywhere… people with incredible stories, ideas, creativity and passion… but not everyone has spare money for memberships, subscriptions, courses, or expensive publishing services.
So after a lot of thinking, I’ve decided that the future of Amery Publishing should be built differently.
Moving forward, Amery Publishing will become completely FREE to join.
No membership fees.
No barriers to entry.
No “pay to belong” model.
Instead, the goal is to build a genuine publishing co operative… built by authors, for authors… where people can learn together, support one another, share knowledge, ask questions, exchange experiences, and grow alongside the platform itself.
The vision remains the same…
To create a safe, supportive, realistic and transparent space for authors.
A place that encourages collaboration instead of competition.
A place where people feel welcomed, respected and supported regardless of experience, background, or financial situation.
There is still a huge amount of work ahead, and Amery Publishing is very much still in its early stages… but I wanted to be honest about both the silence and the change in direction.
Thank you to everyone who has continued to support the vision, show patience, send kind messages, and believe in what this could eventually become.
We’re only just getting started.
